BRING ON THE DUBS: DONEGAL WILL PLAY DUBLIN IN ALL-IRELAND SEMI-FINAL

first_imgBring on the Dubs!! We want revenge!!It’s the game the whole country wants to see, and now they’re going to get their wish, Donegal will play Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park on the 31st of August.Dublin were simply awesome this evening, as they easily disposed of the challenge presented by Monaghan.Dublin ran out 17 point winners over the men from the Farney County on a scoreline of 2-22 to 0-11, in a frightening display of attacking prowess. It was a close opening quarter, but once Diarmaid Connolly found the back of the net in the 25th minute there was no looking back. They simply outclassed Monaghan for the remainder of the match and in truth should have won by more.Earlier in the afternoon, Donegal won an epic quarter-final against Armagh, they trailed with two minutes to go, but two super scores from Michael Murphy and Patrick McBrearty edged Donegal over the line and set-up a mouth-watering clash with Dublin. The All-Ireland champions of 2012 now face the All-Ireland champions of 2013 in what promise to be one of the most fascinating games in years. Will Donegal adopt the claustrophobic defensive strategy they employed in that infamous semi-final in 2011??So many questions will be asked over the next three weeks as the excitement builds towards what will be a truly epic semi-final.We can’t wait for it, and I’m sure you can’t either, the scramble for tickets will begin now. There will be a double header of Donegal v Dublin matches, as Declan Bonner’s minor side will face Dublin earlier the same day.It promises to be some occasion, and how sweet would it be to beat the Dubs TWICE in the one day at Croker. Let’s dare to dream.Well done to Jim and the boys on their brilliant win earlier this evening.Oh I remember that summer in Dublin, let’s hope so.Tir Chonaill Abú.
