Jammu Kashmir CM orders revisiting of Pahalgam Master Plan

first_imgIn a move directed at developing Pahalgam as an eco-friendly high-end tourist destination, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has ordered revisiting of Draft Master Plan for the hill resort to make it an all-season tourist destination.“The Town Planning Organisation (TPO) should immediately re-examine its earlier recommendations for Pahalgam and submit a concrete Draft Master Plan on which work can commence in the next three months, after seeking approval of the State Cabinet,” Sayeed said chairing a high level meeting at Pahalgam. The meeting was summoned to review the Pahalgam Draft Master Plan-2032 and ongoing developmental works in one of Valley’s premier health resorts. The hill resort, which is situated 100 km south of Srinagar, also serves as the base camp for the annual Amarnath yatra. To provide the local population with a sense of ownership, Sayeed also directed the Tourism Department to prepare a concept plan for setting up of a School for Skill Development at Pahalgam that professionally trains local youth in various skills. The skills may be connected to hospitality, housekeeping and landscaping sectors, which are directly associated with the tourism industry.“Pahalgam has a huge potential to be developed as a tourist-cum-educational hub, on pattern of some of the other resorts in the country like Dalhousie and Dehradun,” Sayeed said. The Chief Minister placing high priority on developing Pahalgam as an all-season tourist destination said the draft Master plan of the resort, being conceived by TPO, requires a relook so that a long-term perspective plan, which envisages development of one of Kashmir’s most visited health resorts, are incorporated in it.The previously approved Master Plan 2005-2025 of Pahalgam is being revised on the directions of the High Court so that basic facilities, development works and recreational avenues for the tourists can be created in a planned manner by complying with strict procedural and environmental norms, which are laid down in the master plan.last_img read more

The discussion enabled industry experts to identify the potential for generating savings and improving trial efficiency, as well as assessing how digital disruption is forcing change.Related StoriesOlympus Europe and Cytosurge join hands to accelerate drug development, single cell researchBridging the Gaps to Advance Research in the Cannabis IndustryResearch reveals how mirror therapy relieves phantom limb painThe challenges most frequently cited by survey respondents are patient enrolment (56%), site start-up (43%) and regulatory approval delays and changes (43%). Respondents also identified study start up, patient recruitment and retention, and protocol development as three key areas with the most potential for generating savings and efficiencies.”ICON recognizes the challenges our customers are facing and is focused on building our integrated site and patient network to improve trial start up, as well as patient recruitment and retention.” commented Dr. Steve Cutler, Chief Executive Officer, ICON, on the survey findings.Opinions of which technology trends will have the greatest impact on clinical trial operations varied. 36% of survey respondents noted that leveraging big data and AI technologies would have the most impact on improving clinical trial efficiency. 35% reported that risk-based approaches toward monitoring held greater opportunity for impact on clinical development. The survey demonstrates that industry have realized the need for a holistic effort to transform trials, however, only one in five survey respondents (22%) stated their organization currently has an integrated effort to drive clinical trials transformations. A further 83% of respondents believe strategic partnerships with CROs will be important to the success of clinical trials over the next five years.Informed by the survey responses, the Improving Pharma R&D Efficiency whitepaper proposes a three-part framework for guiding strategy in transforming clinical trials. The whitepaper argues that while adopting disparate tactics can improve elements of clinical trial efficiency, the potential is even greater when change is applied in a coordinated fashion to reimagine and reinvent the R&D enterprise.
